Technology Gazette Episode 60- Pablo Hoffman, CEO of Privnote.com joins us
Posted by Josh Chandler | Filed under Technology Gazette
If you are like me and process a lot of personal, confidential information that you may wish to send onto collegues or friends, you find you are continually having to send this data through very public sectors such as Email and IM. Well it’s no shock to know that these messages are actually retained on the Email providers servers such as Yahoo Mail or Google Mail for a long period of time. So Privnote.com is the new, private manner to send message which will “self destruct” once read. These messages are so safe that even people at Privnote cannot read them!!
Today’s guest from Privnote.com was CEO Pablo Hoffman, who I am told is no relation to our guest from yesterday

I have always had huge enthusiasm for every single company that comes onto my show, they wouldn’t make the selection otherwise
But this company actually put a smile on my face, the next gen avatars have arrived and they are hiding behind closed alpha currently, but check back at my blog to see when it comes out of closed alpha.
Steve and the team have the next best thing in web communication right here, and it makes the experience so much more rich and fulfilling, this was one idea I had a while back that was one I just wish existed and now it does. Huzzah!

Today’s guest was Olexiy Prokhorenko, who I failed to mention on the podcast is the co-founder of Web 2.0 status update network Atomkeep.com, this network is a much more complete way for you to update everything on your profile from status updates to contact information a real advanced level, companies are viewing the status update page market in much more direct way with the likes of Ping.fm, I am especially interested in how the API will form with other social networks, it sounds as though Olexiy and the team have some great ideas that could allow Atomkeep to really be one for the future.

Technology Gazette Episode 55- Juha Huttunen of Tripsay.com joins us
Posted by Josh Chandler | Filed under Technology Gazette
So I had the folks from Planeteye.com on Technology Gazette Episode 53 to share more about their social travel site, this site is a travel site in which people share guides, photos and indepth information about the places they visited
Today I interviewed Juha Huttunen about his site Tripsay.com, which is a huge rival to Planeteye.com, it was a highly interesting discussion about how their social features work in their site as well as how they are different to Planeteye.com. Juha was perhaps a little worse for wears after the Tripsay Launch party last night, but he still provided some fantastic answers to my questions

Technology Gazette Episode 50- Stephen Doogan of Weare.us joins us
Posted by Josh Chandler | Filed under Technology Gazette
So this is probably the most important social network I think to exist in the world and I am so glad to be covering it for Episode 50 of Technology Gazette, the idea of Weare.us is to assist those who may be suffering for a disease such as Chrons or HD and really empower them to have a voice in a warm, friendly community. It makes me feel so honoured to be covering Web 2.0 when I see companies such as this really helping those in need to express their very personal and intimate details with an online community!

Technology Gazette Episode 46- Steve Rosenbaum of Magnify.net joins us
Posted by Josh Chandler | Filed under Technology Gazette
So today’s guest was the CEO and Founder of Magnify.net. Steve Rosenbaum. This short bio was provided to me for reference, and I though you may wish to view a little bit of background on Steve:
If you want to see where the future of media is going, just ask Steve Rosenbaum to draw you a map. He’s following a path that he single-handedly charted starting back in 1993 when he developed, created and produced the groundbreaking MTV UNfiltered. Shot entirely by viewers, UNfiltered marked the first fully user-created program in television history and was the model used by Vice President Al Gore for CURRENT.TV (which was another notch on Rosenbaum’s consulting belt). Along the way networks like CBS, A&E, and HBO all counted on Rosenbaum to help them explore and deploy user-generated video in programming. But while his resume may detail a long list of historical firsts, Rosenbaum is more focused on where video is headed.
Today, Rosenbaum’s latest company (he has founded 3 others) is Magnify.net, the fastest growing user-generated video network on the web, which boasts more than 40,000 channels.
For Rosenbaum, the true power of storytelling rests not with the storyteller, but in the hands of the audience. By launching Magnify.net, Rosenbaum continues to share his passion for the audience and vision for the future of media.
